About Us

They say any journey will begin with a foot step, like that SANGHAMs long journey begin with a small get together at Keesara. Kaka was the force behind that get together. He inspired the gathering with a thought provoking speech. He called upon the assembled community members not to limit the association to a single room instead expand it to have a building of its own. For that he encouraged members to have a piece of land.

After that active members of Sangham started collecting information regarding Padmashalis staying in neighborhood colonies. Association which started with a membership of 18 families, in 1992 at Srinivasa Nagar Colony, has now grown into a mighty organization consisting of more than 400 families. In the initial stages we used to have bi-monthly meetings in various colonies hosted by community members. We used to send the communication by writing post cards notifying venue and time. Executives in the formative years thought of a common holiday for all members and started hosting community lunch on 25th December every year at Sangham Land.

Executive committee members and other active members used to visit houses of all members and invite them for Sangham Lunch. Majority members used to attend annual community lunch with their families. Sangham could able to procure about 800 sq. yds. Land with contributions from members in 1995. Some members also purchased house sites in the same layout. After completing registration formalities the layout was named as MARKANDEYA NAGAR.

OUR AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

Padmashali Welfare association strives for the welfare of members and their families by taking up social, spiritual and cultural activities. For this many committees were setup, which are functioning actively. Committees include matrimonial committee, merit awards committee, building construction committee, engineering committee and audit committee.

We have a panel of advisors to advise the executive in day to day activities of Sangham. Sarva Sri Jella Mallaiah, Chalamala Satyanarayana, Chiliveru Paramesh, Aligeti Shankar and Ravirala Muthyalu.

Every year Padmashali Welfare association takes up Gayathri dhahrana program on Shravana Pournima. Every year scores of Padmashali members participate in this program. Executive committee members and other members interested also attend marriage and other functions in members houses. Sangham also blesses newlywed with gifts.

Members also maintain cordial relations with other members. They extend their sympathies and stood by the needy whenever a tragedy occurs.

Every year Parinaya Vedikas are conducted for community people, to give an opportunity to youngsters to choose their life partner. Dozens of matches are fixed through these vedikas. Children of members can be enrolled by paying a nominal fee.

Merit awards committee is instrumental in selecting and distributing merit awards to children of members, who fared well in their examinations.

Executive also takes up many activities on co-operative basis like organizing tours and supply of crackers on the eve of diwali

In the last decade women are actively participating in association activities. To increase ladies participation and representation in the Sangham activities for the first time in 2011-13 two women were included in the committee as directors. In the present body two women directors conducted games and sport during anniversary.
